Nyege Nyege Festival 2025 at Kalagala Falls to feature over 300 artists, collectives, and cultural innovators

The 10th anniversary of Nyege Nyege Festival 2025, which is scheduled for 20-23 November will be held  at Kalagala Falls according to Talent Africa Group.

Talent Africa group announced during a press conference on September 30th 2025 at their headquarters in Kampala.

The event will host a continuous 24-hour programme of music, which will bring “over 300 artists, collectives, and cultural innovators from across Africa, the diaspora, and beyond” to the East African nation.

The line-up for 2025 will include Kampire, DJ Travella, DJ Diaki, Arsenal Mikebe, Sisso & Maiko and Catu Diosis, as well as over 15 continental collectives such as Group Therapy and Ile Ijo, Fabrika, Singeli Movement, Transit, and international collectives such as Moonshine and Maraboutage.

Ali Albhai, Group CEO of Talent Africa, which organizes the festival, highlighted that Nyege-Nyege 2025 is more than a celebration of music; it’s a substantial economic boost for the country.

Derek Debru, one of the co-founders of Nyege Nyege , said this year’s festival promises to be bigger, bolder, and better than the past editions.

Nyege Nyege will also be launching the first edition of the African Electronic Music Conference (AEMC) in collaboration with the French Development Agency (AFD), as well as a new stage called The Portal and new location Adrift Overland Camp, which includes activities such as rafting and kayaking on the NIle, plus bungee jumping and quad biking.

“Ten years later, Nyege Nyege remains a space where music, culture, and community converge. This edition celebrates our journey and the limitless future ahead — with our artists, collectives, and audiences shaping the next chapter of this iconic gathering,” officials said.

Global hitmakers Skrillex and Flowdan have also joined the festival, which has grown to become a vital annual celebration of traditional Ugandan culture and music from across the continent.

Nyege Nyege organisers said: “Ten years later, Nyege Nyege remains a space where music, culture, and community converge.

This year’s festival, themed Ekigunda Ky´Omuliro – The Gathering of the Flame, will mark Nyege Nyege’s 10th anniversary.

Nyege Nyege co-founder Derek Debru said the collaboration would allow global audiences to experience the “boundary-pushing, joyful, and inclusive energy” of the festival.

Beyond music, Nyege Nyege has become a hub for creative and cultural exchange, bringing together artists, fashion innovators, and entrepreneurs from Africa and the diaspora. Through Trace+, the festival will extend its reach to global audiences and further promote African youth culture.

In addition to streaming the festival, Trace+ will expand its Afro-centric catalogue, which includes over 25 TV channels, 300 radio stations, films, and series and launch a new digital radio station in October focused on emerging and alternative African sounds.
