Opondo: Mbabazi is A Coward
Uganda government spokesman Ofwono Opondo.
Government spokesperson and Executive director Uganda Media Centre Ofwono Opondo has said that former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has right to right to stand for presidency but has declared his candidature in a cowardly style.
“He has a right to stand, but has declared in a cowardly manner,” Opondo said.
Opondo further said that former Prime Minister has been nursing presidential ambitions for the last two years.
“Well he has been crawling with his announcement for the last two years. The very fact that he was removed from those two positions in quick succession – Prime Minister and Secretary General.”
Opondo’s diction hints at Mbabazi as a corrupt leader. “Yes there is corruption and Amama Mbabazi is among those accused – Temangalo, CHOGM. He is not the only one who has sacrificed all of us have sacrificed.”
He further said that there is nothing new that Mbabazi is going to do that Museveni or any other person in NRM hasn’t done.
Opondo cautioned Mbabazi that he will be dumped in the same pit as Besigye and Muntu.
“He is going to fall in the same pit as Besigye, Mugisha Muntu. I think he is wasting his time. We want to see the MPs that will join him, apart from his wife and sister in-law,” he said
