Celebrated Ugandan rapper Navio is set to celebrate 20 years in the music industry at a massive live concert dubbed ’20 Years Of Navio’, which will be held at Sheraton Hotel Gardens, on September 02nd, 2023.
Real name Navio Kigozi Lubwama, the Hip-hop legend is ready to deliver a historic musical celebration for fans during the concert, which he says will be a fusion of top-tier Ugandan talent and nostalgia, during which he will perform all his signature hits live.
A true trailblazer of Ugandan music, Navio has consistently pushed boundaries across genres over the past 20 years.
By seamlessly blending Hip-hop, Afrobeat, and rap, he has amassed a global following, becoming an emblem of enduring artistry and the ‘20 Years of Navio is a tribute to his musical journey, tenacity, and unwavering commitment to his craft.
Speaking about the much-awaited concert, Navio said that; “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every sponsor, promoter and media house that has lent their unwavering support to the ’20 Years of Navio’ concert. This milestone marks a remarkable journey that has shown me that it’s not always about being the most talented, but it’s about connecting with the community. And community outreach has been a driving force for me to make a meaningful impact beyond the stage.
He added that; “In this journey, no one can guarantee the years we have while performing, but I’m committed to giving two to three hours of undiluted energy and passion during every performance. I’m anticipating a show that will be nothing short of amazing. I hope to be remembered as a Rubaga boy who embraced music and cherished his country. Let’s celebrate this milestone together!”
In his remarks, Aly Allibhai, the Chief Entertainment Officer, Talent Africa Group, who revealed that tickets to the concert are now available exclusively on FlexiPay and Ugandans can dial (*291#) for purchases, said that; “Talent Africa has worked with Navio and we’ve shared countless experiences over the years and of course an opportunity to jump on his 20 years concert is a no brainer. Navio is my brother, we’ll always support each other’s businesses.
“Talent Africa will ensure a great production and we’ll fill this place up like we did a few weeks ago. Navio will bring his A-game and we’re excited to work with him to bring his visions to life come 2nd September,” he added.
The concert, produced by Talent Africa Group will take concertgoers on a captivating journey through Navio’s musical evolution, as he performs a harmonious mix of timeless classics and contemporary gems.
