Sacked Mbabazi Hands Over To Rugunda After 18 Days
Former prime minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has Monday morning handed over office to the new main guy Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda.
The flamboyant politician who was sacked by President Museveni 18 days gave his succesor a brotherly hug after teasing each other about time keeping in a short ceremony witnessed by members of Office of the Prime Minister top management, Head of Public Service, Permanent Secretary among others.
“Ndugu I am available to support you as I’ve always done & in the true spirit of the NRM,” Amama said to Rugunda.
“I hope I will be seeing you again & again. You are inheriting an effective team in the Executive officce. We are all proud of the achievements we have made during my tenure and that of Rt. Hon. Apollo Nsibambi,” he added.
PS-OPM Christine Guwatudde Kintu also gave welcome remarks at handover ceremony.
Mbabazi had been prime minister for three years, three months and 24 days, setting a record as the shortest-serving premier of the NRM regime.
