Jamaican reggae Sean Paul artist on Friday night put up one of the most scintillating music shows Uganda has seen in recent times.

Sean Paul who jetted in Friday accompanied by his queen dancers hit the stage at 10:25 after a host of Uganda artists had curtain raised for him. They included Peter Miles, Navio, Mith, JB, Toniks, Brenda of HB Toxic, Radio and Weasel, Young Mulo and Jose Chameleone.

The skies that had earlier opened Friday did not deter the sea of humanity that flocked Lugogo Cricket Oval where the concert was held and the Jamaican artist ensured his fans left satisfied with his performance.

The crowd sang along to Sean Paul’s super hits particularly fan favorite and club banger Got 2 Luv U which features vocals from American singer Alexis Jordan and She Doesn’t Mind, all rock and roll lyrics that have been enjoying massive airplay on Kampala radio stations and in nightclubs.

Sean Paul’s dancer’s also added recipe to the whole show as their sensual dance moves ensured the men in attendance followed proceedings while giving their Ugandan wannabes some free lessons.

“I attended R Kelly’s ‘Ibelieve concert’ but it cannot be compared to whats Sean Paul has delivered to nite,” Asaba Emma, an elated fan who attended the Lugogo gig.

The show was organized by Talent Africa of Ali Alibhai in conjunction with Kibo Media and sponsored by Club Beer.

The Jamaican who last visited the east African nation in 2004 said his return to Uganda was a dream comes true.

“People in the world have dreams. Ever since I was here in 2004, I have been dreaming of coming back to perform in Kampala. Performing in Uganda for the second time is a dream comes true for me,” Sean Paul said.

The success of Sean Paul’s concert comes as consolation to Ugandan fans that were left wanting when R. Kelly and other international stars visited the country in the past.
