Naome Kabasharira, the Rushenyi Member of Parliament in Ntungamo District has issued a powerful call to action to Ugandans, urging them to combat corruption that’s crippling the country’s economy.
During Uganda’s 62nd Independence celebrations, she emphasized the nation’s progress in development, peace, infrastructure, education, and poverty-reduction programs like Emyoga and PDM.
However, she also highlighted the alarming rate of corruption that threatens Uganda’s economy, stressing that it requires collective effort to eradicate.
Kabasharira challenged her constituents and all Ugandans to promote financial independence and integrity within their communities.
She emphasized that corruption has infiltrated government institutions and local areas, making it a dangerous threat to the nation’s development.
“God has helped us as Ugandans to have lived for 62 years since we got independence, however, I would love to call on Ugandans that for next more years if we want development, all the people whether in Government or not, You must stop stealing Government money. I must tell you that corruption has spread everywhere in the Government institutions and now it has reached even our local areas, something that is more dangerous. I therefore pray to God to come up on us in ensuring that there is no more corruption in our country as we keep celebrating our independence,” said MP Kabasharira.
By speaking out against corruption, MP Kabasharira demonstrates her commitment to principles and zero tolerance for diversion. Her message resonates with Ugandans seeking a corruption-free future.
