TRAGIC! Family Demands Probe Into Death of Worker at Pepsi Factory

The family of Alex Turyasiima, a worker at the Pepsi factory in Kampala, is calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Turyasiima, a son of the late Ruteeraho Domaro of Nyabubare I, Isingiro District, reportedly died two weeks ago after a fall while on duty at the factory.
Relatives have described his passing as untimely and suspicious, urging authorities and management to explain how the incident occurred and to ensure accountability.

Pepsi representatives have been contacted for a comment.
The incident follows another work related accident last week at Polsysack industry in Mukono where a forklift driver knocked and killed a colleague who was a drive to the MD.
The primary Pepsi factory in Uganda is owned and operated by Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), the franchise bottler for PepsiCo, Inc. in the country, and is located at their large, multimillion-dollar bottling plant in Kakungulu, Kajjansi, on the outskirts of Kampala.
The facility was recently expanded and upgraded in 2023, significantly increasing its production capacity for both soft drinks and water.
