During their workshop in Jinja under the theme “From Aid to Trade”, Eddie Bazira, the expo chairman, noted that Uganda is a country rich in natural resources, good
climate and very hardworking and innovative human resource but has unfortunately remained among the poorest countries of the world.

“Upon realization that dependence on foreign aid and hand outs from the Uganda diaspora will not yield sustainable development, the Uganda Diaspora in the Nordics have embarked on a mission to explore the economic opportunities in Uganda and the Nordic region that can attract trade partnerships and direct foreign investment across both regions”, Bazira said adding.

“Our aim is to create conditions for a preferential trade arrangement for Uganda and Nordic entrepreneurs in order to play a big role in shifting from aid to trade, hence sustainable development partnership”.

  1. Dear Bazinra, this is a great initiative but is this an effort to make money, you are charging these poor peasants $2500 to visit the expo in Sweden. Truly will they get their money worth. Why not support the forums which are already there instead of replicating efforts and resources. George
