The Uganda Revenue Authority has released Pioneer Buses after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the company on paying 8billion shillings owed in tax arrears.
According to the MOU, Pioneer Easy Bus will pay URA in monthly installments of 200 million shillings over a period of two years.
In February this year, URA impounded over 100 buses belonging to Pioneer Easy Bus Company for failure to clear a shillings eight-billion tax debt.
The move by URA followed persistent reminders to the bus company to clear the cumulative debt since it started city transport operations in March 2012.
