4 Injured As Plane Crashes In Kabarole

A light aircraft belonging to the Church Of Christ Mission in Kabarole District has come down near Fort Portal minutes after take-off.

The white aircraft, a Cessna 206 registration number N96986, had just taken off from Saaka airfield in Kabarole district destined for Arua district, but crashed into the forests in Kyaka over a yet-to be known problem.

The aircraft was carrying four passengers who have been evacuated and rushed to Fort Portal referral Hospital.

The passengers included Kanyoro Derrick, the manager of the Saaka Airfield. Others are  Jeff Cash, and American evangelist, Kaganzi Frank and Mugume Robert.

Reports from the site indicate that they sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

Police have cordoned off the scene of the crash to prevent on-lookers from getting to it and also to commence investigations.
