Tough times ahead as a bag of Cement costs sh40000 now
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, We tried and sampled a number of hardware shops in Mbarara City, Kampala, Wakiso, and other few parts of Uganda and we have found out that a bag of cement costs sh40000.
Previously a bag of Cement would go for shs28000.
In Mbarara City alone, most hardware shops are selling a bag of Cement between shs37000 to shs40000.
Shockingly, most Cement traders we talked to don’t expect the prices to go down now. The prices will continue going up they said.
Other reports indicate that prices of most building materials are skyrocketing at a high speed.
