Sing about gov’t programmes other than love songs- Min. Mutuuzo argues Musicians

Culture state minister Peace Mutuuzo has asked Ugandan musicians to start composing songs and plays which talk about government programmes other than love songs.

The minister advised while unveiling the Uganda at 60 festival logo at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel ahead of the independence celebrations.

The Uganda National Cultural Central Centre (UNCC) annual Arts and Culture Festival will be a cultural tourism event that will celebrate the rich cultural heritage, customs, colourful arts and traditional entertainment of Uganda.

The UNCC executive director Francis Ojede revealed that this year, as the country marks 60 years of its independence, the fourth edition of the UNCC Annual festival will be celebrated as Uganda@60 from Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October 9.

It will be a three days event with activities that includes cultural troupes’ performances, a carnival and floats parade, stage plays and open air cinema, musical concert among others.
