SAUDI SCAM! Labour Firms Al-Saud Agency, Travel Link Consults Dupe Pineapple Seller of Sh4m in Saudi Arabia Job Scam
A pineapple vendor has accused labour export firms Al-Saud Agency Limited and Travel Link Consults of failing to take him abroad for work even after eating his sh4m.
In a complaint to the DPP, Jordan Lubowa, a resident of Kyengera, says he was initially vending pineapples to make a living.
His mother would later acquire a sh4m loan to facilitate his travel abroad and in particular Saudi Arabia for work.
His mother anticipated Jordan to repay the loan after starting work in Saudi Arabia.
Kazibwe asked him to pay sh4m for the whole process.
Indeed on June 2, 2023, Jordan paid sh1m as the first installment reportedly in the presence of Kazibwe’s partner John Kibudde.
The process started smoothly and Kazibwe would also later take Jordan to Al-Saud Agency Limited based in Kibuye,Salam road for interviews which he reportedly passed.
After being informed that his visa was read, on July 29, he paid the sh3m balance and receipts were issued to him.
“We agreed to pay four million shillings in cash which I did and he took my passport for visa processing. He [Kazibwe] later shared with me a copy of the visa which was issued on 28/07/2023 and was to expire on 27/10/2023.He assured me that I was to travel very soon,” Jordan narrates.
What was supposed to be days became months and now it’s a year.
When days to his visa expiry were nearing and he was not travelling, his inquiries were met with more money demands beyond what was agreed on.
Kazibwe and Al-Saud Agency Limited bosses (Habibah and husband Timothy Wakhasa) reportedly tasked him to pay more sh1.3m in order for him to travel “which was not in our agreement”.
Jordan could not raise this money and instead asked Kazibwe to refund his sh4m and as well handover his passport back since to him there was no hope of travelling.
In a twist of events, on October 12, 2023, Jordan was summoned by OC CID Kyengera Police station on allegations of threatening violence on the same Kazibwe Robert who had taken his sh4m.
He reported as required and when the OC CID took time and listened to both sides, charges of human trafficking, obtaining money by false pretense and operating a company (Travel Link Consults) without a license were slapped against Kazibwe.
The OC CID advised Jordan to report the matter at Katwe Police station since the company he was claiming to be working with was based in Makindye.
Case was reported vide Katwe Police station CRB 2444/2023 where Kazibwe was arrested and Jordan’s passport was recovered.
Kazibwe was, however, released on a police bond and to date he is yet to appear in court.
All efforts to solve the matter amicably have reportedly failed.
The last update Jordan got regarding his case was that the Makindye Resident State Attorney (RSA) had gotten other things to do and there were reportedly even no funds to follow up the same.
Jordan now wants the DPP to follow up on his matter and have Kazibwe and Co who ate his money jailed on top of refunding his money.
Lubowa is now back to vending his pineapples after being defrauded by Kazibwe.
Kazibwe, Al-Saud Agency could not be reached for a comment by press time.
It goes without mention that Al-Saud Agency Limited is among labour export firms whose licenses were suspended some time back.
