TRAGIC! Live Wire Kills S.5 Female Student In Pastor’s Rentals

Police in Industrial Division of Mbale City are investigating circumstances under which a 19-year-old female student was electrocuted on Thursday morning. The incident occurred in Namabasa zone 3A, Doko ward of Mbale’s Industrial City Division.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson has identified the deceased as Adongo Evaline, a senior five student at Gill Sherlock Memorial Secondary School.
According to Taitika, it is alleged that the deceased was ironing clothes when she was electrocuted and died instantly. He says a team of homicide, Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and other officers visited and documented the scene.
Taitika says the body had fresh burn marks on the left hand, consistent with electrocution.
Police says that preliminary findings indicate the house where the incident occurred and belongs to by Pastor Wabutwa Hassan, was being rented by 9 combined male and female students, had an illegal electricity connection.
Pastor Wabutwa has been arrested and being detained at Mbale Industrial City Division Police Station to aid in the investigations.
Adongo’s body was conveyed to Mbale City mortuary for postmortem examination.
Taitika has warned students, land lords and the general public to desist from using illegal power connections saying that they are deadly and criminal. According to Taitika, land lords should ensure they have certified wiring for their buildings before renting them out.
