Uganda Police Rebrands

Uganda’s Inspector General of Police, General Kale Kayihura has announced a change of the force’s name from Uganda Police Force to Uganda National Police.

General Kayihura made his revelation a few minutes ago at Hotel Africana, Kampala.

Kayihura says he rejected ‘Uganda Police Service’ as his cops “are neither waiters nor waitresses”

Local Ugandan media outlets quoting a draft review report claim that besides the name change, a proposal has been made that the police drops the long-barrelled AK-47 guns for appropriate police side arms.
