ABIM HOSPITAL: Senior Nurses to Face Disciplinary Action after Besigye visit

Three senior nurses working at Abim hospital will face a disciplinary action over Besigye visit to the hospital on Saturday last week.


Letter seen by this paper sent to three nurse; Santina Adong, Paska Akello, and Immaculate Owili by the Abim district chief administrative officer Moses Kaziba Nandhala show that they will face disciplinary action over leading politicians throughout the hospital and revealing unauthorized information.

“As a senior nursing officer you were on Saturday 5th December 2015 incharge/supervisor of all staff on evening duty in Abim Hospital as indicated on the Abim Hospital notice board. Unfortunately, on Saturday 5th December 2015 on NTV, you were seen on screen leading political leaders throughout the hospital and showing them working status and revealed unauthorized information,” a letter dated 7th December sent to one of the nurses reads in parts.

“You should remember that you signed an oath of secrecy and oath of allegiance in particular you vowed not to reveal any unauthorized information,” the letter added.

Nandhala said the three t should file a defence in seven days why they should not face a disciplinary action.

Besigye visit exposed the poor state of the hospital with patients abandoned by the doctors.
