Thirteen people lost their lives yesterday in two separate accidents. One in Nimule and another in Mpigi on the Kampala-Masaka highway

Bakulu coach killed 10 people on the spot and left several others with severe injuries in fatal accident at Nisitu Town in Nimule yesterday.

The early morning accident involved a Bakulu bus registration number UAS 201N that was heading to Juba and a Kampala-bound taxi after which the driver only identified as Mzee Rashid  fled the scene and is yet to be located.

The Aswa Region police spokesman Mr. Okema Jimmy Patrick said that they were having challenges with getting more information on the identities of the deceased and survivors due to poor communication.

He added that they are exploring the possibility of sending a team to Juba hospital where the victims are.

Other three people were killed in another accident that occurred in the late hours of yesterday at Kalandazi village Mpigi district.

A truck Registration number UAQ 837W that was heading towards Lwera on the Kampala-Masaka Highway  rammed into a Kampala bound Toyota Spacio Registration Number UAU 341H before running over it and killing the occupants.

One of the dead was identified as Jimmy Sseruwagi and the other two were yet to be identified. Their bodies were taken to Gombe Hospital Mortuary.

Mpigi OC traffic Mr. Ensinikweri Michael Duncan attributed the accident to reckless driving. He said that the truck driver is on the run and the police are hunting for him.
