The High Court has ordered Uganda Broadcasting Corporation to pay Shs80millions to Kizza Besigye.
Justice Margaret Oguli- Oumo made the ruling after finding the broadcaster liable for refusing to air advertisements for the former Presidential Candidate during the 2011 General Election.
Justice Oguli Oumo sided with Besigye who had sued after he had paid money to UBC but got neither airtime for his adverts nor a cash refund.
She ordered UBC to pay Besigye Shs 80 million at an interest rate of 30%.

She also ordered the state broadcaster to pay the costs of Besigye’s suit.

  1. I agree if we are looking for justice and fair treatment, then how come no adverts was made yet he had paid for the service? The court has even marginalized Dr. since once you breach the contract you are held liable for the damages and all sorts of consequences.

  2. Its a pity for the bereaved family for such a big loss. May her soul rest in peace but the police should also wake up from the sleep they are enjoying. They prefer beating the population instead of protecting them, shame upon the police of uganda!!!
