Cranes Bus Driver Laid To Rest

FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa mourned the deceased

Uganda Cranes bus driver Amir Kalanzi who passed away on Wednesday was yesterday afternoon laid to rest at his ancestral home at Kitagobwa village in Butambala district with many mourners praising the deceased.

Kalanzi passed on at Mulago hospital where he had been referred to from Malcom International Hospital after complaining of abdominal pain.

Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President Lawrence Mulindwa said the federation had lost a committed worker.

In a message read out for him by his Vice President in charge of technical matters, Livingstone Kyambadde, Mulindwa also thanked the almighty for the time the deceased spent with the federation.

“Kalanzi has served the federation to our satisfaction and we shall miss his services especially at this time when we are nearing the Cecafa-Tusker Cup” Mulindwa’s written message to the bereaved family read in part.

“We thank God for the time he has been with us and his contributions towards football in this country leaves a positive mark behind as a committed driver. May his soul rest in eternal peace” Mulindwa added.

On top of meeting hospital and burial costs, The Federation President raised a cash contribution of UG sh. 500.000.

Kalanzi will be missed by the Uganda cranes players who enjoyed his driving skills coupled with his amiable character.
