Cranes captain Andy Mwesigwa believes the huge jump by Uganda in the latest Fifa rankings is a sign that the country have tremendously improved.
Uganda went up a massive 13 places in the world to 80th and moved to 19th in Africa in the rankings released on Thursday.
The East African country’s jump is down to the two World Cup qualifying victories, a 1-0 over Liberia and 2-1 over Angola last month.
“It’s good for us,” said Mwesigwa, the FC Ordabasy defender, adding, “And it motivates us to even work more to get to better positions that can allow our players to play in great and big leagues in England, German, Spain and the rest.”
Neighbours Kenya stagnated at 123rd while Tanzania are at 121st and Ethiopia at 95th.
