FLEXIBLE: Capt. Mukula Gears Up For Weekend Kaliro Sugar EMC Rally
The eagerness ahead of this weekend’s Kaliro Sugar -Eastern Motor Club (EMC) rally is portrayed by the American novelist Ernest Miller’s saying that ;‘’There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games’’.
As you read this, renowned Businessman cum politician Capt.George Michael Mukula is looking forward to a new era and the exciting challenge of driving a new Subaru N14 as the Kaliro Sugar EMC Rally 2022 gets underway this weekend.
Mukula is the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson in charge of Eastern Uganda and former Member of Parliament representing Soroti Municipality.
‘’Let’s separate the boys from the men this weekend…..witness the fireworks. The fireworks team will be in Jinja this weekend’’, noted Mukula in separate tweets.
Mukula’s supporters and an advance team dubbed ‘Mukula Rally Team’ (MRT) are already causing excitement in the Eastern Towns of Jinja and Iganga ahead of the rally.

The rally has been organized by Kaliro Sugar Factory in conjunction with Eastern Motor Club (EMC), and is slated to kick off on the 12th – 13th this month both in Iganga and Kaliro districts respectively.
Besides his love for racing , Mukula superintends several bodies including being ; Chairman of the Pan African movement Uganda, Patron Uganda musicians association, Patron Federation of motor union Uganda ,Patron Uganda boxing federation. He is also a Footballer and ardent supporter of Arsenal and Uganda cranes teams.
Additionally, the Kaliro sugar public relations officer Hellen Mugisha told reporters last week that their sponsorship includes 30 million for general preparation of the overall event and the 20 million will be used towards hospitality and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all the fans and spectators.
Other drivers expected in the rally include; Ponsiano Rwakataka ,Rajiv Rupareria, Duncan Mubiru, Ronald Sebuguzi, Arthur Blick Junior, Alwi Hassan and Fred Busulwa.
Rally fans will be treated to a double super special stage and seven more stages totaling a competitive distance of 124.33 kilometers as the second round of the 2022 National Rally Championship takes place in Busoga region.
