Hassan Wasswa Set For Gabonese League Transfer

Red Pepper Online edition understands that there is now a total agreement between Kampala Capital City Authority FC, top Gabonese side FC Munana and Uganda Cranes midfielder Hassan Mawanda Wasswa for the defensive anchorman to move to the West African country in the coming days.

Hassan WasswaFinal details regarding agent fees were on the agenda to be fixed today, with the player only waiting for an air ticket to be sent so that he can travel to sign the contract and start pre-season training. It is understood that Wasswa has already agreed terms with the Gabonese club officials. Whether or not those final details concerning his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and KCCA’s cut of the deal have been settled upon today is however undisclosed at the time of writing.

Small details to fix, but the deal is all but done for a fee of Shs.200M /= from the regular CAF Champions League participants.

Wasswa’s transfer misery

The experienced Wasswa, who has played professional football in Turkey, South Africa and Ethiopia, said although he leaves Uganda’s KCCA FC on a bad note after disagreeing with them when they failed to release him to join a Vietnam team last November, he will continue to work hard as a professional player.

Hassan Wasswa has been in and out of the national team due to little club football.

In November last year Vietnam League side Don Nai FC was ready to offer KCCA FC US$20,000 to release Wasswa, but the club’s Vice Chairman and a Councillor, Allan Ssewanyana, said then that they wanted US$ 50,000 or no deal would take place.

Wasswa, who signed as a KCCA FC player late last season for two years, formerly featured for Turkish side Erciyesspor FC. But the Turkish side held onto his ITC after they claimed the player had not honoured his contractual obligations. It took FIFA’s intervention to get the player a release away from Erciyesspor FC.
