HORROR IN SHEEMA! Husband Hacks Wife to Death After Child Support Row, Axe Rampage Shocks Village

A cloud of shock and grief has descended over Katojo Central Village in Katojo Ward, Masheruka Sub-county, Sheema District after a domestic dispute turned deadly, leaving a 45-year-old mother brutally hacked to death by her husband in a gruesome act that has stunned residents.
The victim, identified as Edrida Tuhaisomwe, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Innocent Muhabwe, 34, during a violent confrontation at their home on the night of June 2, 2026.
According to Police, the tragic incident appears to have stemmed from an escalating domestic conflict over the suspect’s alleged failure to provide basic necessities for their children.
Residents say the couple had been experiencing marital challenges, but few imagined the disagreement would end in such horrific bloodshed.

Preliminary investigations indicate that earlier on the day of the murder, Edrida had sought help from local authorities and reported her husband for allegedly neglecting his responsibilities as a parent and provider.
The complaint reportedly prompted Police to summon Muhabwe to appear before authorities on June 3, 2026.
However, instead of complying with the summons, the suspect allegedly flew into a rage.
Investigators say Muhabwe became violent after learning of the complaint against him. He is accused of threatening local leaders and causing destruction in the area, including damaging a banana plantation belonging to the village chairperson.
As tensions escalated, the situation reportedly spiraled out of control later that night.

Police allege that before authorities could take action regarding the fresh offences, Muhabwe armed himself with an axe and turned on his wife.
In a chilling attack that has left the community horrified, the suspect allegedly hacked Edrida to death at their home, killing her on the spot.
The brutal killing sent panic through the village as residents rushed to the scene, only to find the mother lying lifeless.
Police officers from Sheema Territorial Police later responded to the scene, documented evidence and recovered the suspected murder weapon believed to have been used in the attack.

The deceased’s body was subsequently conveyed to Kabwohe Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination as detectives commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Muhabwe was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently being held in Police custody as investigations continue.
The shocking murder has reignited concerns about rising cases of domestic violence in families, with local leaders calling for timely intervention whenever disputes arise between couples.

Speaking on the matter, Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson SP Apollo Tayebwa condemned the incident and urged members of the public to seek peaceful and lawful avenues for resolving family disagreements.
He noted that violence is never a solution to domestic misunderstandings and appealed to community members to report threats and signs of escalating conflict before they result in tragedy.
Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will face the full force of the law if found culpable.
