The incident has occurred at Bugo Village in Lwankoni Sub County in Rakai district. The jilted husband identified as Richard Muyunga (30) decided to hang himself at his father in-laws home after failing to persuade his wife Margret Nabulya get back to him after their separation.

Nabulya, the mother of Muyunga’s six children, had left their home three weeks ago and returned to her parents’ home at Lwankoni in Rakai district.

After failing to convince Nabulya to return to their home, he hung himself in a tree near his father-in-law’s house.

John Mugwere, Nabulya’s father, says that they were shocked to find Muyunga’s body hanging on a tree.

Mugwere says his daughter Nabulya had often accused Muyunga of abusing her. Nabulya claimed Muyunga often beat her. The couple had reconciled many times.

The Southern Region Police Spokesperson Noah Sserunjoji confirms the incident.

Sserunjoji says Muyunga’s boday has been recovered and taken to hospital for a post-mortem.
