Kabale Bus Accident Leaves One Dead, 12 Injured

One person has died and 12 others injured following a head-on collision accident involving a Baby Coach bus and a fuso truck along Kabale-Katuna road.
The accident occurred at Kicumbi in Kamuganguzi Sub County of Kabale district in the wee hours of Monday morning. The deceased has only been identified as Muwanga, a resident of Wakiso, the turn man of the ill-fated fated a truck.
Ely Maate, the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson says the Baby Coach bus registration number UAS 307M and Fuso Lorry registration number UAQ 640Q were racing at terrific speed when they collided.
He says the situation was aggravated by the morning mist, which made it difficult for the bus driver to dodge to Fuso truck at a sharp bend.
The injured accident victims are receiving treatment at Kabale regional referral hospital. The wreckage of the bus has been towed to Kabale Central Police station.
Justine Munezero, one of the travelers on the ill fated bus says they pleaded with the driver several times to slow down but he was adamant. He says the situation worsened when they approached the Kabale- Katuna road, which is found in a flat area.
