High court in Kampala presided over by Justice Wilson Masalu Musene on Wednesday acquitted  Sarah Nabikolo, Kasiwukira’s window, of murder charges, while her cousin, Sandra Nakungu and Ashraf Jaden, were convicted and sentenced to 20years in Luzira Prison.

The Justice Musene said that Nabikolo was not involved in her husband’s murder, but the other two had a common intention to kill Kasiwukira.

Ashraf who was a police officer at Muyenga Community Police Station knocked Kasiwukira to death and therefore was guilty of murder according to the judge.

Kasiwukira was killed on the morning of October 17, 2014 as he was jogging in the neighborhood of Muyenga, a Kampala suburb. He was hit by a car which Jaden was driving and took off after the incident.

Witnesses in the case spoke of alleged marital problems between Kasiwukira and his wife which they believed resulted to his death.

There were also testimonies about witchcraft in the home.

Although Nabikolo admitted to having marital problems with her husband, she said she had tried to resolve them and would never consider murdering him.
