Fresh from qualifying for the first round of the CFA Champions League after seeing off Sudan’s El Merreikh FC last weekend, Coach George Nsimbe’s side made sure they picked maximum points.
With the Makerere University finalist on a a hat-trick, the league’s leading scorer Tony Odur also picked a brace for KCCA FC. Brian Majwega, William Wadiri and Hakim Ssenkumba also got their names on the score sheet. Mubarak Wamboya scored the lone goal for the Mbale based team that is bottom of the log.
“This has been a good morale boosting win as we kick started the second round of the League. Am happy that my players were hungry to score goals and hope they can be in the same form when we play Zambia’s Nkana Red Devils on March 1 in Kitwe in the first leg of the CAF Champions League first round,” said Nsimbe.
KCCA will be back in action on Saturday against Second Division side Kamwokya FC in the Uganda Cup knock out competition.
Action in the League returns on Friday with seven League games on card. Sports Club Victoria University who were last weekend ejected in the CAF Confederations Cup will also return to local football against struggling Proline FC.
