KIU Student Arrested For Stealing, Raping Girls

Peter Katumba a student of Kampala International University was on Tuesday arrested by police detectives after information had leaked that he cons girls, engages them into sex and later steals their phones and money.

Peter Katumba 28, Muganda by tribe and second year student at KIU offering bachelors degree in Information Technology  was yesterday netted by police after several students had  filled cases against him alleging that he has stolen their phones and money.

KIU Students while recording statement at police, they said that Katumba uses a trick of falling in love with you with intentions of robbing some valuables such as phones, money and laptops.

“Katumba approached me and asked me whether am married or has a boy friend. I told him am neither of the two and after a while  he called me  and asked me to meet him at fair way hotel. I went there and he told me he had secured some resting place for me inside the hotel, when we reached there , he got a phone call and requested me to assist him with my phone so that he can write  a phone number. When I gave it to him , he went and never came back,” Mercy Kibuka  one of the complaints narrated.

Students further pinned Katumba that he has stolen many valuables worth Shs 40million and raped unknown number of girls.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that students should be careful enough to their fellow students who try to put themselves into conning habits.

He further urged students that; “Anyone who knows any person doing such habit should report to the nearest police station so that they can be helped.”

Peter Katumba is currently detained at central police station on charges of theft, conning by trick under reference number SD30/23/03/2015 as investigations are still going on.
