Lightning Strikes Ten P.7 Candidates in Mityana
Lightning has struck a primary school in Mityana district leaving ten of them critically injured and unable to proceed with their Primary Leaving Examinations.
The incident happened just as the students were going to enter the examination room for their first paper in a morning drizzle.
The affected school which was identified as Nakaseta Islamic Primary School is located in the central district of Mityana district, in South Western Uganda. The severely injured pupils are admitted at Mubende Hospital.
The incident comes after other 18 students of Runyanya Primary School in Kirandongo district were struck dead by lightening. The meteorological department in the area attributed the incident to lack of lightening conductors in the buildings.
