Machete-Wielding Jilted Lover Hacks Girlfriend
Kanungu | RedPepper Digital – A 40 years old man has been arrested by Police in Kanungu District for hacking his 27-year-old girlfriend to death.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesperson says Ampereza Nicholas, a resident of Kanyambeho cell, Kanyambeho parish in Nyakinoni sub-county hacked to death Peace Namara, 27, a bar attendant and resident of the same village.
Trouble started on Monday 3rd January 2022 at around 5 pm when Ampereza Nicholas developed a misunderstanding with his girlfriend now deceased with whom he has been cohabiting for some time.
The disagreement began after Ampereza learnt that the girlfriend had gotten another man she was planning to marry it was then that Ampereza decided to pick a machete and cut the girlfriend in the neck almost cutting her head off and killing her instantly.
The matter was reported to Nyakinoni police post under SD REF 07 /03/01/2022 by Turyatunga Baker, the chairman LC 1 Kanyambeho cell
Maate says the Scene was visited by the Officer in charge of Kihiihi police station Asp Kashumba John Bosco and a team of detectives.
The two developed some misunderstandings and the man took laws into his hands and decided to kill his girlfriend in a bloody manner. we have visited the scene and the suspect is already in our hands as we continue with investigations” Maate said.
The Body was conveyed to Kihihi health centre IV pending a postmortem.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Kihihi police station and the murder weapon recovered and exhibited
