Mateos, Nandos Closed Over Tax Arrears

UPDATE: Mateos and Nandos management has agreed to pay the tax arrears and URA has decided to unseal their premises.
Uganda Revenue Authority has forced food Joint Nandos and Mateos bar to close shop over tax arrears.
“We’ve closed Mateos bar and Nandos for failure to honour their tax obligations amounting to over Shs150m and Shs250m respectively,” URA posted on their social media pages.
Mateos and Nandos are both located on Parliamentary Avenue in the heart of Kampala City.
Recently, URA intensified its operations of closing and attaching properly of tax defaulters.
SK Mbuga is the latest culprit in this operation. A few days ago URA raided his home in Kansanga to attach has petrol guzzling cars.
URA is demanding over 200 million from Mbuga in form of tax arrears.
