Sports Club Villa’s Denis Mbidde is the FUFA Vice president elect following Saturday’s polls by the Uganda Premier League clubs.
Mbidde beat Vipers Chairman Tadius Kitandwe to the post though Express, Lweza, Soana, SCVU and Police didn’t take part in the exercise.
Mbidde withdrew from the SC Villa presidential elections on July 26 at Namboole Stadium for current boss Ben Misagga who appointed him deputy president in charge of marketing and company strategy and now adds his new post to being a National Council of Sports (NCS) board member as well.
“I promise to work with diligence, integrity, utmost honesty and determination not withstanding that my key motive in life is ‘To Strive for Excellence’,” Mbidde stated soon after his triumph.
“I have a successful career span of 13 years with extensive experience and specialization in the areas of sales, marketing, customer care, public relations and strategy development. In other areas I have expertise in human resource management, project management, finance and investment management, eight years of which are at top management,” he added.
The FUFA general Assemly that will convene next weekend in Lira will be tasked to approve Mbidde’s appointment.
Once the assembly approves Mbidde’s election, he will also automatically join the FUFA Executive Committee replacing Mujib Kasulewhowas booted when Proline was relegated in May 2013.
