Money bags Kaharata donates to school pupils on birthday

Babrah Kaharata Musimenta the younger sister to Rukungiri District Woman MP Midius Natukunda Kaharata has donated learning materials and clothes valued at over Ugx 2.5m to pupils of Mother Care Primary school which is located in Rwensigyiro village, in Kikarara parish Bwambara Sub County in Rukungiri district.


The assorted learning materials included books, blackboards, pens, pencils, chocks and clothes.


Speaking to the pupils, teachers and parents of Mother Care Primary School, Babrah Kaharata explained that she decided to celebrate her birthday with pupils because she is the mother and to all Ugandans, education should be taken as the first priority since its wealth.


Musimenta added that most parents could not afford basic needs for their children to go to school, a reason why she also decided to celebrate with them in addition to donating some learning materials to pupils and the entire school.


“We know I personally cannot provide everything but this is just my modest support to help the children stay in school and learn,” Babrah said.



She urged the pupils to take their studies seriously and appealed to the teachers to monitor and support them especially, the needy pupils to stay and learn.


Musimenta added by calling upon pupils and parents not to sell the donated materials but rather use them in the right way for the intended goals.


Kyomuhendo Shallon the school headteacher and at the same time the director thanked Musimenta for the heart of almsgiving explaining that the school is still struggling since its now one year in existence but the donated materials will contribute much towards its successful journey.


Tumwesigye Kezekia the Rwensigyiro village chairperson hailed Babrah Kaharata for supporting her fellow youths calling others who are capable to always intervene and help such groups of people.



Kyomugisha Christine, Kyarikunda Evas, Kasande Catherine and Rosemary Kanohiri some of the parents appreciated the great support from Musimenta Babrah Kaharata saying that her contribution will help their children to have stable studies.


Mother Care Primary school has an overall of 53 pupils from nursery to primary four and is the only school located in Rwensigyiro village.


Kezekia Tumwesigye the area chairperson LCI, pupils have to move a distance of over three kilometers (3Km) in case they want to access government schools which is a challenge to the residents.
