Frank Tumwebaze, the presidency minister has come under attack from MPs for alleged failure to resolve the power struggles in Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA.

MPs on the public service and local government committee say the minister has done nothing to resolve the power wrangles to ensure proper management of the city since he was appointed.

The committee has directed the minister to execute his roles to compel the councillors to attend council meetings to address the issues that are hindering the development of the city.

Moses Kasibante, the Lubaga North MP blames the minister for giving lame excuses that he has only been in the office for a short time, adding that any competent leader would have made a significant change within that time.

The minister pledged to convene a meeting between Lukwago and Musisi to find a way of ironing out their differences.

When the minister was asked who should give orders at City Hall; Tumwebaze said, Jennifer Musisi, the KCCA Executive Director and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago are leaders of the authority.

He however said he will call the shots where the two heads do not act by invoking his powers under article 79 of the KCCA Act.

He told the committee that despite the wrangles there has been remarkable improvement in the city as far as cleanliness and image building is concerned.

The committee started investigating KCCA when Mayor Erias Lukwago and some councilors petitioned parliament last year over what they called poor administration by KCCA executive Director Jennifer Musisi.
