MUK Exams Start As Lecturers Suspend Strike
Makerere University exams start today after lecturers resolved to suspend their strike over salary increment. The lecturers under their umbrella, Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) last week announced a sit-down strike once again demanding a 100% salary increment.
In the MUASA General Assembly on Sunday, however, the lecturers agreed to suspend the strike after the University management agreed to include their demands in the 2013/2014 budget.
