FUFA has said the directors of the Uganda Super League Limited (USLL) Fred Muwema and Kavuma Kabenge are wasting time by refusing to agree with the decision of Education Minister.

On Monday Minister Jessica Alupo announced that both USLL and Fufa Super League Limited would be deregistered. She revealed that Fufa Super league will simply change name to Uganda Premier League, and that Maroons FC, who won the USLL league, will play in the lower tier, the Big League next season.

Rogers Mulindwa, the FUFA spokesman told the media at the headquarters in Mengo on Wednesday that the two USLL members are simply wasting time and also trying to get themselves popular in their legal professions.

Mulindwa said the Minister’s document was very clear and the FA will make sure they implement the guidelines as given.

He also explained that CAF, FIFA and FUFA all advised the members of USLL but they insisted all these parties were wrong. USLL leaders ran to the government and petitioned, but again they have received the same message.

Mulindwa said since football needs everyone, FUFA is ready to pardon the suspended USLL officials so long as they remove the cases in court and also write that they will never take football matters to courts of law again.

Kavuma Kabenge is among the officials who were suspended last year.

Meanwhile, after refusing to embrace Alupo’s document saying they will continue to use legal means to get a solution, USLL officials will tomorrow have the opportunity to meet the Minister so that she can brief them on how certain recommendations were reached.

  1. Wel, even the so called Fufa is full of Business oriented guys just milking the game. Can Rogers tell people what Fufa intends to do for the poor refereeing of matches most especially in favour of Clubs attached to Fufa officials. What has Fufa done upcountry to improve the game?
