Mzee Amos Kaguta Dead
RIP: Amos Kaguta
HE President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s father, Mzee Amos Kaguta (96) has passed away this morning at the International Hospital Kampala. The president’s father was rushed to the facility early this month reportedly with stomach complications.
State House has released a statement confirming the death of the President’s father with a request to the media for privacy during this period when the family celebrates the life of Mzee Amos.

February 22, 2013
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and all the Kaguta family wish to announce the death of their father, grandfather and great grandfather Mzee Amos Kaguta 96, which occurred today February 22, 2013 at 07.00hrs at International Hospital in Kampala.
The family thank most sincerely all the doctors who cared for Mzee Kaguta during his last moments. Burial arrangements will be announced later.
“As we celebrate the life of Mzee Kaguta and the great contribution he has made to this country. And as we mourn his passing on we request that the media please respect the family privacy during this time.
The President is right now in Rwakitura with family. Any information about the arrangements being done by the family will be announced in due course,” the Deputy Press Secretary Nabusayi L. Wamboka said.
