Ndejje, UCU crowned Varsity Basketball Champions
Ndejje University retained the Zuku University Basketball championship
Uganda Christian University and Ndejje University emerged Champions of the Zuku University Basketball League over the weekend at a colourful event inside the MTN Arena, Lugogo.
UCU defeated Makerere University 61-59 in the women’s final while Ndejje saw off UCU by a point in a 53-52 victory.
In the women’s final Joy Chemutai had a game high 28 points while Anyango Winnie got 14 but couldn’t stop UCU from taking the women’s biggest prize in the ZUBL.
Acheing Velma scored a team high 19 points while Odhiambo Purity got 18 points.
The men’s final was a classic encounter as Ndejje denied UCU a double collection of trophies on the evening.
Okello James got a team high 16 points while Otim Jonah had 16.
The ZUBL action returns on Friday with a mouth-watering clash between ZUBL All Stars Kenya against ZUBL All Stars Uganda for both men and women categories.
