Ms Oliver Koyekyenga a sister in-law to late Joy Kariisa the Buhweju District Woman MP will be the National Resistence Mvement official flag bearer in the forthcoming re-election to replace Kariisa who died on September 8.

Koyekyenga was announced winner after garnered 13,983 votes (46.4 per cent) beat her closest challenger, Ms Alison Byamukama 8,181 votes, (27.1 per cent) and five others on Sunday at 3.30pm.

Ms Koyekyenga commended the exercise for being free and fair. “The exercise was smooth; my supporters did what they were supposed to do. But in politics, some people remain unsatisfied,” she said while her closest rival Ms Byamukama was non-commental.

She will face competition from FDC members for the seat including Ms Eves Kafureeka, Ms Clare Ayebazibwe, Ms Jane Bwiruka and Ms Frances Ndyahebwa.
