Obua Off To Romania

In a not too surprising turn of events, it has been revealed ex-Cranes and Kaizer Chiefs winger David Obua has abandoned plans to return to the PSL and instead is headed for a top team in Romania.
Obua who left Uganda on Tuesday to get a visa in Johannesburg and connect to Romania had trials with University of Pretoria two months ago and was expected to join the team.

A close source to Obua said on Thursday afternoon that the player has been working out seriously ahead of the trip to Romania. Last month the player said he had abandoned plans to go to Romania because the club had showed un-seriousness by asking him to buy his own ticket.
“Let us pray for David to get a contract in Romania because he has been club-less for a long time yet he is a gifted player,” added the source.
Two months ago Obua, who holds the highest scoring record for Uganda in the last five years, had an impressive show while training at University of Pretoria under the watchful eyes of coach Steve Barker.
The player hoped to join AmaTuks for pre season training, but seems to have got a change of heart to try his luck in Eastern Europe. Already the PSL side has signed two strikers Obadiah Tarumbwa from Zimbabwe and Lucky Mathosi.
