Our Destiny is in our Hands – Micho

The Cranes tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, has said the destiny of his team in the 2014 World Cup qualifier is now in their own hands following Senegal’s 2-0 victory over Liberia in Monrovia on Sunday.

The Serb told our reporter on phone from Kigali, Rwanda this morning where he is spending time with his family that he is confident his talented side can beat Senegal. He admitted that although the Lions of Teranga are a respected side, the Cranes have all it takes to bring them down.

Micho believes the fact that the Cranes will be playing an away game and playing in the neutral ground in Guinea, Conakry will not favour any side.  In their first encounter in Kampala last year, the two teams settled for a 1-all draw.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse who fired a brace to inspire Senegal to a 2-0 away win last weekend will however miss the game against Uganda after accumulating two yellow cards.

Micho explained that after his team showed character coming from a goal down to beat Angola last weekend, he is confident they can travel to Guinea ready to play their hearts out to get the three points.

Micho assured Ugandans not to worry because he has been coach of two teams in games in Conakry and knows what to expect.

Uganda with eight points, one less that Senegal need an outright victory to qualify for the next round of the World Cup qualifiers, while the Lions of Teranga can afford a draw.
