Reports emerging from Lubaga, the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala show that the Pope is yet to appoint the Auxiliary bishop of Kampala. This follows Vatican’s evaluation which indicated that the current Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere needs a deputy at the level of a bishop to help him in the running of the archdiocese.
Archbishop Ssemogerere replaced the late Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga whose death had a bearing on work related stress. Sources say that Ssemogerere, unlike his predecessor, is acceptable to the idea of having an auxiliary bishop.
