PICTORIAL: MOFA, Uganda Missions Abroad Participate in the 11th Edition of The Rotary Cancer Run
Rotarians and well-wishers on Sunday morning participated in the 11th edition of the Rotary Cancer Run to raise funds for research and cancer equipment at Nsambya hospital. In Kampala, the run was flagged off at Kololo grounds by Rotary International President Jennifer Jones with participants taking on either 2km, 5km, 10 km OR 21km.
In pictures , we bring you the events at Various diplomatic missions of Uganda across the world on how they participated in this year’s run which was the first physical event since 2019 when the Covid pandemic broke out.
Officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kampala also joined the Cancer run at Kololo.
Runners from over 35 cities including those in Bujumbura, Kigali, Dubai, Dar es alaam, Beijing, Sudan, Nigeria, Libya, New Delhi, Mombasa, Khartoum participated .
Majority of the Diaspora participated on Saturday 3rd while a few joined on Sunday 4th, being a normal working day in the Sudan. The event was followed by an address by the CDA a. i. Mr. Dickson Ogwang and the exercise sponsored by the Mission.
The Deputy Head of Mission drew their attention to the severity of Cancer in its final stages and encouraged them to go for periodic medical examinations owing to the fact that Cancer can be detected, treated and managed before it advances to its deadly stages.
