“ROYCE HAS FINISHED YOU!” Bold MP Tears Into Outgoing Speaker Among in Explosive Missive Over Luxury, Poverty & ‘Insensitive, Careless Spending’

Parliamentary corridors and political WhatsApp groups have exploded after former Kabale Woman MP Ninsiima Ronah Rita released a blistering emotional letter targeting outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Among over allegations surrounding a luxury Rolls Royce vehicle and what she described as growing public anger over extravagance at a time ordinary Ugandans are drowning in poverty, sickness and economic suffering.
In the hard-hitting letter dated May 11, 2026 and addressed directly to the outgoing Speaker, the former legislator did not mince her words as she begged Anita Among to “be kind and merciful” to both herself and Ugandans while occupying the powerful Speaker’s seat.
Opening the emotional message with Christian greetings, Ninsiima introduced herself as a “Repentant Sinner” and apologised for using a SACCO platform to deliver the message after allegedly failing to access the outgoing Speaker’s direct contacts.
But what followed was an explosive political and moral attack that has since triggered heated debate across the country.
Ninsiima revealed that the first time she ever heard about a Rolls Royce car was through a local daily front-page story last week allegedly linking the ultra-luxury vehicle to outgoing Speaker Among.
She admitted she was not familiar with luxury car brands but said the alleged price tag completely shocked her and pushed her into disbelief.
“Anita nobeeeeeeihaaaaa, Mukazi warenzya!!!!” she wrote emotionally in Runyankore, loosely translating it to mean that the outgoing Speaker has gone beyond what people could humanly comprehend.
The former MP openly suggested that if the Rolls Royce allegations are true, Anita Among should return the vehicle and refund part of the taxpayers’ money because the controversy had already destroyed what remained of her public image.
“Madam Speaker, a good name is better than silver and gold,” Ninsiima warned.
She further cautioned Among to think about the children she would leave behind because of what she described as “the curse that will come with Royce.”
In one of the most painful sections of the letter, Ninsiima accused the outgoing Speaker of failing to fully appreciate the suffering of ordinary Ugandans despite occupying one of the country’s highest offices.
She said instead of traversing the country during the recent presidential campaigns searching for votes, the Holy Spirit should have guided Anita Among into travelling across Uganda inspecting poor service delivery, especially in the health sector, and witnessing the biting poverty affecting citizens from Agago to Kisoro and Busia to Buyamba.
According to Ninsiima, such exposure to the realities facing ordinary Ugandans might have stopped the outgoing Speaker from allegedly purchasing the luxury vehicle.
The former legislator also resurrected advice previously given by academician Dr. Spire [Ssentongo], who reportedly warned leaders at the beginning of the current parliamentary term about the dangers of appearing detached from the people they lead.
Ninsiima said the academic used President Yoweri Museveni and his brother Salim Saleh as examples of leaders capable of wearing the world’s most expensive clothes but who instead choose locally made Ugandan shirts from Nytil in order to remain connected to ordinary citizens.
While acknowledging that Anita Among had previously toned down what she called an “alarming dress code,” Ninsiima warned that the Rolls Royce controversy had now “killed and is slowly burying” the outgoing Speaker politically.
The emotional appeal then shifted toward what the former MP described as better ways the alleged Rolls Royce money could have been spent.
Ninsiima begged the outgoing Speaker to instead construct accommodation blocks for cancer patients who sleep on hospital floors at the Uganda Cancer Institute and temporary shades for struggling patients and caretakers.
“With just that one gesture, you will have helped all Ugandans and helped patients to hurt with dignity after giving them comfort in their final days on Earth,” she wrote.
She further argued that such support would also protect vulnerable patients from infections and diseases caused by congestion and sleeping on hospital floors.
In another sharp political jab, Ninsiima urged Anita Among to borrow a leaf from former Speakers of Parliament whom she praised for choosing integrity, empathy and selfless service despite having opportunities to “live and spend large.”
The former MP warned that the Among’s current image risks creating a negative legacy so damaging that future young Ugandans may struggle to occupy the office without resistance from the ruling party’s Central Executive Committee.
She blamed what she called careless spending and insensitivity to the financial struggles of ordinary citizens for the growing hostility toward the Speaker.
Ninsiima also appeared to accuse Among’s media handlers of shielding her from criticism and public frustration.
“I pray your media team gains the courage of enabling you access all the disturbing thoughts of Ugandans about you to enable you reflect on and review some of your actions,” she wrote.
The letter has since ignited fierce reactions both online and offline, with some Ugandans praising the former MP for boldly speaking out while others accused her of launching a politically motivated attack against the outgoing Speaker.
But regardless of which side Ugandans fall on, one thing is certain — the alleged Rolls Royce saga has now exploded far beyond social media gossip and entered the dangerous territory of morality, public anger and political legacy.
And in the middle of it all sits Anita Among, facing one of the fiercest image storms of her political career.
