The Saints put up a counter attacking master lads at the Kiteezi grounds on Thursday, as they obliterated Wandegeya FC via a 4-0 victory in the FUFA Big League.

The win gave the side a boast in their push for a playoff slot with one game to go though advantage was taken out of their hands when FUFA docked Artland K for fielding ineligible players and awarded Mutundwe Lions FC three goals and three points and jumped to third.

Centreback Moses Okello scored his first hatrick, and Ronald Musana continued his rich goal scoring form, as Wandegeya fans and Gayaza residents were left looking glum.Musana2

Musana scored his goal in the 17th minute as he sneaked in unmarked at the far post to tap in corner kick.

Ten minutes later, it was 2-0 as Moses Okello scored from a free kick to hand The Saints a great lead away from home with Nelson Sempagala missing from the spot nevertheless.

The shell shocked home side went in search of answers, but were left short at the back, and Mark Twinamatsiko’s side made them pay as Okello added his second with a stunning beauty from miles away.

But the former CRO star was not done, he added a fourth in the 77th minute from the spot after Jooga is hacked in the box.

However, Mutundwe Lion’s 2-1 win at Lugogo against Ndejje University meant that the playoff spot in the Rwenzori group became more complex. The much billed top of the table clash between Baza and Lweza at Villa Park could only end in a 1-1 draw.

The Saints’ last game is against Ndejje at their fortress, Namboole Stadium.
