Salva Kiir Fires Finance Minister

South Sudan's President Salva Kiir
South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir has issued an executive order, sacking his finance minister, Aggrey Tisa Sabuni.

The order announced on Monday on the state-owned South Sudan Television (SSTV) did not cite any reasons for the decision.
However, sources at the ministry of finance and the presidency claimed the decision could be linked to corrupt practices and his alleged ties to companies owned by either officials in the country’s rebel faction under the leadership of former vice-president Riek Machar or those in the camp of former political detainees.
Sabuni has been has since been reappointed as a presidential advisor.
His successor, David Deng Athorbei, was replaced with Kosti Manibe in the 2011 cabinet reshuffle.
