SCVU In Shs40m Olaki Chase

Francis Olaki is sought to be joining SCVU for Shs 40m.

SC Victoria University are set to confirm that they are hunting the signature of Soana and Uganda Cranes CHAN striker Francis Olaki for a Ugandan record Shs.40 million.
SCVU plays Congo’s Don Bosco in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round with the Congolese side hosting the first game between 7-9th of February and are looking to strengthen their sharpness attack.
Olaki is available on a free transfer in December this year having suggested that he will not be signing another deal with Wakiso side due to a lack of competition under coach Mark Makumbi.
That means the 21-year-old can sign a pre-contract with a club of his choosing and move as a free agent during half-season of the 2014/15 campaign.
The club are yet to release a statement this week where they are set to confirm they will be talking to the player.
“The player’s contract at Soana expires in December 2014, therefore, they (SCVU) would like to make our intentions known,” said an impeachable source close to the FSL side’s top-brass.
“Simo (SCVU chairman) is ready to splash the dimes on Olaki and meetings with Soana’s owner Smart Obedi are endless lately,” the source added.
The question now is whether SCVU would be able to net their prize a younger brother to Cranes and Yanga SC striker Emmanuel Okwi who is sought to push for a move to South African Premeir Soccer League during the CHAN tourney that starts this weekend.
The striker was in good goal scoring form in the domestic league netting eight times in 15 games before a thigh injury disrupted his season and was a second half substitute in that game against Mauritania managed to get onto the score sheet.
