SHOCKING; Woman mysteriously dies during prayers at Pr. Senyonga Church

By Our Reporter

There was stampede at Christian Life Church in Bwaise on Wednesday afternoon when one of the believers who had come for prayers collapsed and died. Christian Life Church is owned by Pastor Jackson Senyonga.

The victim has been identified as Rosette Najjuma aged 59, a resident of Kisoga in Mukono District. Eyewitnesses said Najjuma came to the church the day before while sick to be prayed for but she ended up dying from the church. She had come with her daughter Sharon Namutebi. However, what shocked onlookers is that when the woman collapsed and died, most of the believers took to their heels fearing for their lives.

A case was later opened at Wandegeya Police Station and the body was taken to the city mortuary for further investigations.

In a statement, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy PRO KMP, confirmed the death of Najjuma saying that the police in Wandegeya are investigating a sudden death of a woman that happened on Wednesday at Christian Life Church in Kigundu Zone of Makerere III Parish. Owoyesigyire said that the deceased Najjuma had been receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital for the past three years.  He said that despite undergoing various tests, no disease had been diagnosed by the medical doctors. “As a result, she was taken to the church to be prayed for,” he said. He however said that the woman later passed on at exactly 4pm on Wednesday afternoon during prayer services. He said the body was later taken to the City mortuary in Mulago for further investigations to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, her daughter told Namutebi told reporters that burial arrangements for her late mother were scheduled for Friday at 4pm at Lukubo Village-Bukunja in Mukono District.

Christian Life Church has not yet commented on the mysterious passing on of this woman.
