Somalia To Camp In Uganda A head of CECAFA
SOMALIA IS in negotiations with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to train from Namboole as they prepare for next month’s Tusker CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kampala.
“When the league concludes late this month, we plan to get all our players together and we are talking with FUFA to allow us train from their facilities.” said federation official Amir Mohammed on Tuesday.
Somalia, which is a conglomerate of players, most of whom reside in Europe and America, due to the biting civil instabilities, last year surprised Uganda holding the record 12-time champions to a goalless draw at halftime in the Azam stadium. Their only notable key player is the team skipper Eisa Aden Abshir who plays professional football with Norway’s Elverum IL.
