Stanbic Bank Uganda strengthens ties with media partners

In a bid to amplify Uganda’s growth narrative, Stanbic Bank Uganda executive leaders recently engaged with prominent media outlets, including Next Media , Nation Media Group , Weekly Observer , and InfoNile a sustainability-focused journalism initiative and recipient of the Stanbic Shield of Journalism at the 2024 Uganda Journalism Awards.

During these meetings, the bank’s executives emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency in media coverage of the bank and the financial sector in general. ‘We have an open-door policy on media relations, and we are eager to collaborate, but trust must be established first,’ said Francis Karuhanga (FCCA, CFSA) , Chief Executive of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited. “By building mutual trust, we can achieve more together and effectively drive Uganda’s growth story forward.”

The engagements, organized by the Head of Communication and Reputation Management, brought together a team of key executives, including Executive Director Samuel Fredrick Mwogeza , Marketing and Communication Executive Head Daniel Ogong , and the Chief Executives of Stanbic Incubator, SBG Securities, and Stanbic Properties. This diverse group of leaders demonstrated Stanbic’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with media partners and promoting a more accurate and nuanced understanding of the bank’s role in driving Uganda’s growth.
